GENDER DIVERSITY
During AY 2021-22, 282 students,
faculty, and staff completed Safe Zone
training.
PSYCHOLOGICAL SERVICES
Facilitated 18 group therapy
appointments with students, a
38% increase from May 2021.
WOMEN & GENDER EQUITY
The Period Party event had over
60 participants in attendance. The event
was co-sponsored by Just Foods Kansas
to raise awareness and collect menstrual
supplies to address “period poverty.”
RESOURCE OFFICE
For the first time since December 2019,
HERO hosted six Stress Busting Study
Breaks events. Over 450 students
participated in these events during
finals week.

DEVELOPMENT CENTER
Enrollment dropped to 280 children for
the summer months, a 4% decrease from
previous month.
The Kansas Union Gallery had
3,486 visitors during the Spring 2022
semester, a 16% increase from Spring
2021 semester.
During AY 2021-22, the Ambler Student
Recreation Fitness Center served
10,439 students, equivalent to 44% of
the enrolled student population.

On Stop Day Eve, 265 students
participated in a self-care program on
potting plants, a 61% increase in
attendance from the fall semester’s selfcare
program.
STUDENTS
Assisted 957 students across
36 in-person tax workshops during
the Spring 2022 semester.
AFFAIRS
Recognized 48 graduating students at
OMA’s Graduation Celebration. This
was the department's first in-person
celebration since May 2019.
& EDUCATION CENTER
LDST 301 enrolled 1,210 students
during AY 2021-22. Seminar enrollment
has increased 245% since its debut in
AY 2018-19.

Maintained 43 sorority and fraternity
chapters during AY 2021-22, the same
number as the previous year despite the
a few chapter additions and departures.
COMMUNITY STANDARDS
Adjudicated 2,889 conduct cases during
AY 2021-22, an 11% decrease from the
previous year.3 SCCS reported a
33% increase in case processing time
as compared to the previous year.
LEADERSHIP CENTER
Registered 460 student organizations
in AY 2021-2022, consistent with the
previous year. However, this number
represents a 21% decrease from
AY 2019-2020.
MANAGEMENT SERVICES
Assisted 148 students through
individual appointments and group
presentations, a 143% increase from
the previous year.

previous year.
Conducted 62 telehealth appointments
with students, a 70% decrease from the
previous year.
AWARDS & RECOGNITIONS
Radhia Abdirahman (SMMS) received a Fulbright Award to earn a master’s degree in Australia in public policy.
Bander Almohammadi (LSS) received the Carl Coan Award for International Student Leadership.
Alyssa Francis (SILC) received the Student Affairs Baby Jay Award.
Kevin Joseph (Student Affairs) received the Dr. Neeli Bendapudi Award from the Office of Multicultural Affairs. family. Kenny was recognized for his contributions to the LSS tax program.
Jenny McKee (HERO) received the Student Affairs Jayhawk Award.
Cierra Roberson (OMA) received the Student Affairs Rock Chalk Award.
Jim Schilling (KU Memorial Unions) received the Student Affairs Crimson and Blue Award.
Keesa Shrader (Student Housing) received the 2022 University of Kansas Employee of the Year Award.

QT Coming Out Stories. KU Achievement & Assessment Institute awarded SGD a $12,000 grant to collaborate with Film & Media Studies to film student, faculty, and staff coming out stories for future Safe Zone trainings.
